About Us
B & D Integrated Health Services was founded by Lauren Durant, PhD, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Addictionologist, trained at Duke University Medical Center in Behavioral Medicine and Evidence-Based Treatments. Dr. Durant serves as the CEO, and the organization is managed by a Board of Directors, more than half of whom are themselves patients at B & D, reflecting our deep commitment to patient-centered care. Established in 2005 under the name B & D Behavioral Health Services, the company began with two divisions: Outpatient Services (including medication management and individual therapy) and community-based services. The vision of B & D was to gradually and systematically expand services to make our company a “one-stop-shop” for evidence-based behavioral health services.
Today, B & D has evolved into a comprehensive health center, housed in a 12,000 sq ft office suite in Durham, and a 10,000 sq ft office suite in Wake Forest, offering a full array of services. These include integrated primary care, individual therapy and group therapies, medication management, Care Management, Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP), Buprenorphine Treatment, Community Support Team (CST), Intensive In-Home (IIH), and Peer Support Services (PSS).
Our primary care program is central to our mission, working in conjunction with our behavioral health services to provide a seamless connection between physical and mental well-being. Our philosophy emphasizes client-centered, family-focused, culturally sensitive, and empirically based care.
Recognizing the importance of accessibility, we welcome referrals from underserved populations, including those with Medicaid/Medicare benefits and individuals who are uninsured or underinsured. Individuals with household incomes below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level may be eligible for reduced rates. Our goal is to empower individuals and families with the knowledge and resources needed to make informed treatment decisions, emphasizing the vital integration between primary care and behavioral health services.
With extended community-based hours (evenings and weekends) and convenient locations on the bus line, B & D's commitment to primary care and mental health integration reflects our dedication to the overall health and well-being of our community. Managed by a Board of Directors with unique insight into the patient experience and guided by the vision of Dr. Durant, B & D continues to be a leading provider of integrated health services in the region.
